Feedback to improve standards..

Give children feedback to improve standards in school, says new guide | Education | The Guardian

...Yet, the feedback which is not personalised and adjusted to every single pupil is not helpful to the pupils' learning needs while increasing standars is not the goal here...what pupils learn and if they learn cannot be traced in whether they find the correct answer.. Success in learning activities does not indicate success in learning procedures (Perrenoud, Allal). Formative teaching and learning is far away from ticking a list of goals (Boyle) and Assessment for learning as it is implemented in today's classrooms is not at all relevant to its original meaning and purpose. It is though remarkable how cleverly the government manages to confuse teachers by using two completely opposite terms: feedback (AfL principle) and Standars (summative teaching and learning in a testocratic system)! The recipy works: loads of paperwork and goals to be accomplished for the teachers and the pupils, higher scores and more money for the outside factors ..I guess it is easier to control teachers when they are exhausted...
